5/9/2023 I passed my exam on the first try. I did a bunch of the simulations, took all of your practice exams, read the rationales for the answers I got wrong, and that was it! I was well-prepared for the exam and scored above average on all but one of the categories.

5/8/2023 I took the test last Friday and scored 83. I had purchased different study materials prior to finding yours. I am so glad that I abandoned the other material which were difficult to understand. The case studies were almost identical in format and questions to the actual test. The materials helped me understand how to understand what the test questions were actually looking for. They helped me remember the difference between an empathetic response vs reflection of feeling/meaning which was important for the test. Personally, I studied for just over a month. My process was to complete at least 5 case studies each day. On the four Saturdays prior to the actual test, I took the full-length practice exams. I also tried to study 3-4 sections per day focusing on my weaker areas. Thank you so much for the materials! I am very happy with your product and would highly recommend!

4/25/2023 I passed on first try, thankfully! Because I found the test itself to be so random and the correct answer so difficult to differentiate that it is easy to fail. Your narratives saved me as they are so similar to the exam and they teach you how to tease the right answer. I really appreciated the explanation component of the narratives, that was essential in helping me learn how to take this test.

4/25/2023 My husband and I are both pre-licensed counselors and in preparation for this exam, he purchased a one-month counselingexam.com subscription and I purchased a one-month Mometrix subscription. It took me about a week to realize that my husband's program was FAR superior, so I cancelled mine and purchased this one. Very thankful I did. The practice exams, the hundreds of narrative simulations, the helpful tidbits, the learning games, the technique trees, and even the videos were extremely valuable to me. All info was organized and clearly explained, and I also appreciated the test-taking tip section. The narrative mapping technique, as well as the relaxation meditations and affirmations to use on test day, were amazing. People kept saying "This exam is not about the material as much as it is about knowing HOW to take this exam", and they were right. Thanks to ya'll, I knew how to take this dang test, and I'm proud to say I passed the exam on 4/19. I even scored above the average passing score! This was the last step to my licensure process, and I owe ya'll for helping me finish strong. I'll shout your name from the rooftops haha. Thank you!

4/20/2023 I used Counseling Exam mostly for the practice exams and narratives. I took the NCMHCE today and passed. The narrative examples are helpful to get an idea of what the test will look like. I used DSMV Audio Crash Course to help with diagnosis as the DSM area in the website is a bit difficult to navigate. If I could offer feedback for the price, the webpage is a bit disorganized and could use updates. I also believe that if you get a question wrong an explanation as to why the answer was wrong would be helpful. With that being said it is the best overall study material that I could find.

4/19/2023 I took my exam today and passed! Relief is an understatement. Thank you CounselingExam.com for all the resources, variety in which you present information, and for the tips for exam day. I felt prepared and was not too surprised when I compared the practice exams to the actual NCMHCE. Looking back, I would have wanted to brush up more on CBT, REBT, EFT, and Solution focused interventions/techniques, but I passed and that's all that mattered to me!

4/18/2023 I passed the test yesterday and I have to thank this program as a big part of why, and I only studied for one week (I don't recommend). I knew quite a bit coming in, as I've worked in the field for six years. However, this was really great for getting me used to the format of the test and how to pace myself. Also, on which areas to focus on. Like others have said, some of the errors were mildly frustrating, and I submitted feedback about some of the ambiguous wording used for the questions. Other than that, no complaints at all. I love the smaller narratives for when I didn't have time to do a full exam, and I loved how rationale was provided for each answer. As for someone who just tested, I'll mention a few topics that I saw quite frequently on the exam, so be sure you're up to speed on: CBT (soooo much CBT Qs. Know the cognitive errors and the techniques/interventions), SFT Solution Focused Therapy, know what kind of language you'd use, Reflection of Meaning, differential diagnosis, statements of empathy, Exposure Therapy, ERP Exposure and Response Prevention, Panic Disorder, and OCD...maybe it was just my exam, but I had a whole narrative about OCD with so many detailed Qs.
