7/4/2022 I do really appreciate and enjoy the site, but I did fail the first time due to the limited information given on supervision, consultation, and administration information. That was the only part that left me confused on the exam because it was not made clearer in the study material. nonetheless, I am studying and preparing for my second text and I'm hoping all goes well.

4/18/2021 I took the exam twice and failed both times. The first time was not after the use of counselingexam.com and I failed both sections. To prepare for the second time, I purchased both books, studied everyday for months, completed practice exams and even re-reviewed the DSM 5 and still failed the decision making section, but passed the information gathering section. Although I have failed twice, I still find that the material from this website is very helpful. I'm still not sure what went wrong with the decision making section, but I'm planning to buy your CD combo and play them everyday in my car.

11/18/2021 I took my exam today and failed. However, I initially bought a 30-day subscription but felt overwhelmed after looking at the site. The closer I got to my exam I did not feel confident and purchased an additional 90 day subscription in case I didn’t pass. My scores on the exam were similar to my scores on the practice simulations. I cannot base by failed attempt solely on the website. I feel the information. Is there. The problem I have, and my reason for giving this site 3 stars is due to the site having so much information, no direction on how to study (structured daily study schedule), and no feedback on practice simulations/exams to give direction on mistake for each practice exam. I used therapist development center before and they were much more helpful and only provided what was necessary for the exam and I passed with flying colors (they don’t offer prep material for this exam). I will try again in 4 months and continue to use the rest of my subscription time to see if I can pass.

11/18/2021 Prior to using this site I had taken the NCMHCE 6 times and was unsuccessful. I used this site along with other things to help me pass the exam. I'm thankful for this site.

12/13/2022 This program has many positives, but some concerning negatives to be aware of. Strengths include the many formats they offer for learning and reviewing information (videos, flip cards, daily email practice questions & many practice scenarios, to name a few). I also liked that they list the study topics available, giving you a lot of options to choose from. The biggest negatives were related to typos & inaccurate information. For example, one flip card defined one diagnostic definition as that of "Dissociative Personality Disorder". There is no such disorder. It should have read DID (Dissociative IDENTITY Disorder). There were numerous others also. However when I alerted them to some of these errors, they were very responsive and said they had made the needed corrections. I think the benefits outweigh the negatives but it did cause me to lose confidence in the remainder of their materials. (I passed my exam this week).

10/27/2023 The theories section was one of the sections I really wanted to study up on. However, I was very dismayed to find that the material was in only study note format via theorists rather than theories. The information was hardly applicable. I also found myself studying hard to remember many things that were not on the exam in other sections, then found that there were several things on the exam that I failed to review. Add information about gender and ethnic addiction specific information and statistics. Update/change the highly disappointing theories section.

10/11/2017 I purchased this package, but I found that several of the responses were incorrect. I made it known, but the response was that it is difficult to keep things updated.

11/18/2021 While the information provided was helpful I found it very disjointed and confusing at times. I also found that there was conflicting information provided in many areas that I had to go to other sources to verify. For the type of operation that this is reported to be there were many typing and grammatical errors, very distracting. Hire someone to do nothing but proof your website and verify information. While I passed, the exam was far easier than your tests, due to the overwhelming amount of material that you said I needed to study my anxiety level for weeks was quite high and unnecessary. Not sure I would recommend your program.
