2/24/2024 I failed. I was REALLY vigilant and studied every single simulation. I'm smart too. I can go into a few reasons this regimen doesn't make sense but ... :(

2/5/2024 More full length exams. Having lots of simulations is wonderful but I'd rather have them all set up like an actual full length exam for scoring purposes. I have unfortunately failed two times now and don't know what to do and am feeling defeated.

12/13/2022 Counselingexam.com is absolute overkill of information. I didn't need to re-enroll in grad school. I needed current direct strategic guidance in how I can pass the NCMHCE. The entire website was a review with the exception of "Breaking News". It's quality not quantity. I will not recommend counselingexam.com until they focus majority of site on the exam and not "returning to grad school" and flashcards. It only incites unnecessary anxiety, as the exam covers maybe 40% of what Dr. Hutchinson provides,and for me, the daily inspirations were long-winded. With ALL the words on his site, more words was the last thing I wanted to see. All I wanted was my meat and potatoes, and I never got it from him. Very disappointed.

12/13/2022 Failed exam by a few points after two 90 day subscriptions, taking practice tests 6 days/week plus studying, around 4 hours/day. The actual exam was worded in much more technical/textbook language, including many more choices and ones I had never heard of. I wish the case studies given for practice tests reflected this, as I was totally unprepared for the shock this produced. I know test anxiety set in and since it took so long to select correct choices, I did not have time to take the breaks in between case studies as I had practiced and no time to eat the food I had brought with me. I barely had 4 minutes to spare when I finished.

1/17/2023 I absolutely do NOT recommend this to ANYONE. Both I and a fellow colleague used the Counseling Exam study program and we both failed. The practice tests did NOT prepare us for the actual exam given. The verbiage is radically different and the study tips provided by this program were ineffective. Our counselor educators even recommended against this program. Save a penny and do NOT subscribe.

7/28/2021 It's too late to ask for a refund but I wish I'd have listened to your lecture on BD before anything else. I'm going to try to push through this ~ considering the price. Your narrators are using a mocking tone ~ he/they just compared a client with BD to Hitler! ... and they are using a snarky tone about the BD client's relationship with pets and/or stuffed animals, vs. offering suggestions in how that attachment can be used to help the clients form human connections. SO disrespectful. This is lacking in compassion and empathy. We are sworn to help people ~ not mock them and not belittle or devalue them because of their personalities. Super disappointed. I also heard another one of your instructors on a YouTube channel (which is how I found you) say, "we are here to follow the rules and stay in our lane ... NOT diagnose ... um, what? Diagnosis is part of the job ~ collaborating is part of the job. Using empathy, and offering solution focused therapies that align with the diagnosis ... part of the job. I should have looked into this coursework before purchasing. I have to own that much. Disappointed that I didn't.
