6/28/2018 Just wanted to thank you. I bought a three month subscription, got busy at work and completely procrastinated. A week before the exam I purchased another week and spent 3-4 hours per day cramming. In addition I reading through the study guide, I watched every video and took every simulation on the site. On the morning of the test I got up and left early because there was snow. The freeway was a solid sheet of ice and I sat at a stand still for 1:40. I called the test site and amp. They arranged for me to take the test even though I was approximately 40 minutes late. I got the 4 hour test and finished it in 2:10. I not only passed but just about blew the thing out of the water. This was puzzling because I expected the real test to be more difficult than the simulations on the site. Not so. The simulations totally prepared me to more than do well on the real thing. Thanks so much for the help. I was hired into a position that required a license and with your help, now I can keep it long term.

10/3/2014 Dr. Linton, I passed the NMHCE!!! I sat for it this morning. Thank you for your help on the telephone, the ebook, and the online prep course. I went from knowing pretty much nothing, being out of school for 10 years, to passing the exam - 86% on the IG (61% was passing) and 79% on the DM (71% was passing). I did a lot of studying in there - about 2 hours a day on average, some days more than that. But without your course I doubt I could have passed.

10/3/2014 Passed! you can take me off the list. The run down you gave of what the different buzz words mean ie most, best, probably was very helpful to this 53 year old who has been licensed for years. Only because California refuses to give the national exam did I have to take this stupid thing. But over, done. thanks.

10/3/2014 Passed the exam yesterday. I was licensed 35 years ago. South Carolina didn't accept that little accomplishment, and required that I re-take the exam. Thank you for the great hints and study materials.

6/28/2018 I passed yesterday with 87% on both sections. I would recommend www.counselingexam.com to practice what the SIMs will look like. However, this site gives you more than you need. You do not need to focus on differential diagnosis or theories and his site does a lot of both. Still necessary for the practice in my opinion though. Give yourself breaks in the test- its a long time to "be on"! Good luck!

8/31/2024 I PASSED:) I followed your tips and took my time to answer. Your website covered the latest crucial information contained in the test, particularly helpful were the Clinical Supervision, Groups, Gotta Know...and, the Breaking News. Of course the simulations were just like on the real test. Perhaps the most important section for me were the ones containing the Differential Diagnosis and DSM-5 information (I graduated in 2012 when we were still learning based on the DSM IV.) The flash cards...everything on this website was VERY HELPFUL!

10/3/2014 Passed the exam this morning with an 89% for IG and an 85% for DM. Purchased several testing guides but the best ones were counselingexam.com and Jonathan Maletz's videotaped workshop.

10/3/2014 Wow, I passed...the test was very reasonable and not as detailed as I would have thought. Know your basic disorders: anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, bipolar, and personality disorders. No questions about psychoses today. My strongest recommendation is getting counselingexam.com and just keep doing all the case studies. You all can do this!!!
