People E-mail us after they get the results of the exam . Usually we hear from those that have passed. Unfortunately people that don't pass feel their performance on the exam is a reflection of their competency as a professional rather than how well they take tests or happen to be feeling that day! I went from knowing pretty much nothing, being out of school for 10 years, to passing the exam - 86% on the IG (61% was passing) and 79% on the DM (71% was passing). I did a lot of studying in there - about 2 hours a day on average, some days more than that. But without your course I doubt I could have passed. Hi Linton, It's me again, this time saying Thank You for your continued attention to my many questions. I passed the exam today, with scores several numbers above the required passing grade (meaning it's not a fluke, I really did pass). I made a couple silly mistakes which I recognized immediately and otherwise did great. Linton, You won't believe it, but I actually PASSED the LPC exam...I found out yesterday! I couldn't be more thrilled or surprised! Since Virginia requires that the scores go directly to the VA Board, I have not seen my exact scores yet, but will once I send them the fee for my licensure. In case you don't remember, I reallllly thought I had failed because I was unable (because of going to the wrong section) to complete 7 out of 9 pages of one simulation. I guess I must have done as well as I hoped on the other 9 simulations! I just wanted to let you know...and to thank you for your support and especially the website you created. Dear Linton, Just a note to thank you so much for putting together the web site. I had a snowballs chance of passing the exam when I relocated to Massachusetts form NYC. I might as well have been from a different planet. My training was psychodynamic, i.e., Freud and British Object Relations. I wouldnt have known Reality Thereapy if it ate my lunch . . . and oh, did I mention: I'M AN ART THERAPIST!!! There was nothing on the exam that compared with my practice; I work at an agency which treats the chronically mentally ill - Axis 2 and pschotic disorders . . . But Linton, you steered me in the right direction. I followed the instructions: studied for 3 months, at least an hour/day. I read the books, did the quizes and staggered through the simulations and I passed - not just squeaked by, but well in the comfort zone. I just took my exam on Saturday. I don�t know how I did; the exam was long and difficult. I did exactly what you suggested, at the end of the 5th simulation I took some time to go, stretch, and drink some water. I went right back to work, and didn�t lift my head up until I finished. I know it has been almost one year since I took the exam but have referred several of my friends to your study site. Your site and daily emails really gave me the tools I needed to pass the exam. I went 2 days ahead of time to get my bearings, check out the room (glad I did because I almost froze working in the library the day before the exam, and travel time from my hotel. I took a bottle of water, just in case they would let me have it in the exam room (they did, if we left it on the floor until break), and took a power bar and of course a jacket and the paperwork needed to enter the exam. Your email about groups just a few days before the exam was right on time for me to look up what I needed to know for the exam as I hadn't studied for groups. I had been out of school for nine years so I really appreciated all your encouragement. Please tell your students that they really need to sit at their computer for the length of time they will have to do for the exam. My psychologist recommended this and it was a real eyeopener for me. I was able to sit for that length of time and was able to schedule my breaks at the times I needed them and didn't waste time worrying about them. This helped keep my anxiety down to a manageable level. Keep up the great work. Everything you gave me was very necessary. I was told that only 50% passed the exam here in Florida and I could see why, those 50% didn't study your exam guide! Thanks again, it was well worth the money spent, I did about 3 months of study with your guide. It was not too much and was concerned that I had not studied enough. I used all my relaxation techniques and positive thinking and prayer I could to keep positive for the exam. I did send for the study guide and marker for the exam from the exam company and that was really helpful as it is a very unusual exam. I knew what to do through the exam. The proctors don't know the exam, just the process of taking the exam. It made all the difference to have gone through the exam guide and use the marker. I am a 2000 graduate from the Clinical Psychology program at UCF and I took the exam in January 2003 and passed with flying colors with the help of your website. It had been recommended to me by a friend and a result of my use, I recommended it to many of my colleagues who took the exam in June. I am happy to say that they all passed with flying colors. Your website is an excellent resource for the exam. The simulations were the most helpful, but I also found your test taking strategies helpful. I have never been one to need test taking strategies, but i found myself struggling with some of the simulations so I decided to give it a try. I can't tell you how much that helped me. For example, your pointers on reading the question and only answering what the test designers were asking and not necessarily what I would do in reality was the best. Your program really helped me. It was the best $120. I ever spent. I did all the simulations and exercises one month leading up to the exam. Once I got to the end of the simulations I went over them again the week of the exam and definitely noticed an improvement in the number of simulations that I was getting correct. I have signed on to your site in the past and was very put off by the number of spelling errors. It made me question�the "professionalism" of the company running it and decided not to enroll. Just wanted to check back today; got my results and I passed!!! I am so excited. Your online course helped me immensely, even though when I walked out of that test I was SURE that I had failed. Ironically, I think I felt that way because I had studied so hard I was aware of many that I messed up on (besides the message "not indicated"!) The simulations helped me; I did all of them many times; I also found the dissecting a case study very helpful. I am a Federal Civil Service worker and I just wanted to tell you all that I took my NCE in April 02 and passed with a score of 127 and my NCMHCE in October 02 with a IG score of 126 out of 152 (83%) and a DM score of 144 out of 180 (80%). I was so sure that I would fail - so sure that I decided to take each exam separately instead of together even though in the state of Illinois I only need a 65% to pass these exams. I would recommend this website to anyone applying for licensure. I don't think I could have passed without it, especially because I did not have a lot of the clinical coursework back when I graduated in 1989. Dear Dr. Linton, Test results arrived Friday, 16 Aug and I passed. For the IG section there was a possible 168 pts with 110 pts required to pass, I had a 131; the DM section had a possible 165 points with 127 pts required to pass, I had 127. Thanks for your prep course, it helped me to focus on using the DSMIV in ways that I never had to in the daily practice at a residential center for adolescents. The differential diagnosis practice and the related treatment planning possibilities were invaluable. Also, the course helped to focus my questions toward the specific diagnosis, where as, working with kids and getting them to talk about anything helps to eventually lead to the area of concern. When I first started your prep course I would ask many things that weren't directly related to the diagnosis.

Whew, I passed the NCMHCE exam for Florida licensure in April 2002 with points to spare on what felt like a bear of a test. I got my results in the mail today. I passed with a total average of 82% The passing score was around 65%. Your course and Linda Seigleman's book made it possible!!! You had asked for feedback on your sites helpfulness with the exam and I wanted to provide some but frankly I wanted to wait until I received the results of the exam incase I just had a false sense of security after taking it. I felt as if I had passed it right away. Your site was the most useful and the most cost efficient means I had to study. I bought expensive study guides and attended an expensive course but it really did little in the way of preparing me. I just continued to do the scenarios and I strongly feel that is what helped me the most. It really gave me a good working feeling of the test and when I went in there it was basically just like logging on to the site only a little more intense. I passed, and I did great on it. Thanks.
